Volunteer

We welcome all kinds of people no matter your background and abilities to volunteer with us. Our starting point is that you share our love and respect for the animals in our care. 

Whatever your skills, if you would like to offer your time at the rescue centre or one of our charity shops, please complete our online application form in the first instance (link on the left). We will be delighted to hear from you!

Help at the centre

Our rescue centre at Earlston is a temporary home for up to 20 dogs,  and up to 40 cats at any one time. Every day these need caring for, cleaning out and feeding. The dogs need lots of walks and the cats need lots of cuddles. That’s 365 days a year, so we need lots of help. If you think you have skills to offer and are willing to help we would be interested in talking to you.  If you can commit to a regular slot, say the same few hours every week – even better. It helps us plan to provide the best possible care for our resident animals. Please note volunteers at the rescue centre must be 18 years+

Help at our shops

Our shops in Galashiels and Kelso provide the biggest contribution to our funds every year. Without them we could not continue to fund the charity. If you can spare a few hours a week to help us sort out the donations; clean, price and merchandise them, help on the shop floor and talk to our customers, we would love to meet you! Please note volunteers in our shops must be 16 years+

Help us with fundraising events

Events are an important part of our fundraising plan and they help to promote the charity to new audiences every year. If you would like to help our fundraising team by volunteering to help plan and attend events (from taking charge to making tea!) please complete our online application form.
