Hedgehogs

In addition to caring for and rehoming domestic pets, Borders Pet Rescue also provide first aid treatment and rehabilitation for wild hedgehogs. Hedgehogs that come in to our care are often very young and require tick removal, rehydration, and medical care. Our Centre team are trained to provide basic first aid, including initial examination & assessment, treatment of small wounds, administering fluids, and removing parasites. Once the hedgehogs are fit enough, they are re-released back into the wild, often from the location where they were originally rescued from.
