It is with deep regret that we announce the upcoming closure of our Borders Pet Rescue shop in Hawick. Following a recent Board meeting, we have had to make the difficult decision to not renew our lease due to a significant rent increase and changes implemented by the new landlord.
Our final day of trading will be Saturday 8th March, after which we will begin the process of moving out and transferring stock.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible staff and volunteers, some of whom have been with the shop since it first opened in 2016. Their dedication and hard work have been invaluable, and we are truly grateful for the support they have given to Borders Pet Rescue and the local community. We understand this news is particularly difficult for our team, and we will be doing everything we can to support them, including helping our volunteers find new opportunities within the town.
To our customers and donors, thank you for your generosity and kindness over the years. Your support has made a real difference in helping us care for animals in need.
Our Board remains committed to Hawick and is working with Hawick Development Trust to source alternative premises. Should this be successful, we will make further announcements.
Though this chapter is coming to a close, Borders Pet Rescue remains dedicated to our mission, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community in other ways.
