Fostering with Borders Pet Rescue is a vital way to support cats and dogs who may not be suited to kennel life. By putting your name forward, you can be contacted if and when an animal in our care would benefit from a home environment. This may include very young or older animals, those requiring medical treatment, or pets who arrive with little or no history.

We’re looking for flexible foster carers who are comfortable providing a safe, calm home, can ensure the animal is not left alone for long periods, and have access to transport for veterinary appointments in Galashiels and to attend potential adopter visits at our rescue centre in Earlston. Borders Pet Rescue provides all food, bedding, toys and equipment, and covers all medical and treatment costs during the foster period. Placements can range from a few days to several weeks.
